I just returned from my Friday Night Knitting Club (sounds like an idea for a book---- oh, wait, that's already written). We had a great discussion---- every month I come away grateful for my dear knitting friends. Not only do I learn to knit, but I look at the world a bit differently after each meeting. Tonight our conversation turned to our national situation. As we talked, I thought once again of what Richard says about The Three Deceivers... "they are great economic principles but they can ruin our personal lives." We are seeing too many of our youth searching to belong so they turn to gangs. We see many who are frustrated as they pursue more money, more stuff and more power but in the end they don't satisfy an inner need.

Oh, if we could embrace The Three Alternatives we would have an entirely different world. No, we wouldn't live in a perfect world, but we could be content with what we have (and don't have) and we would find joy in the relationships shared with family and friends.

Thanks knitting friends for helping me realize all I have to be grateful for. Thanks Richard, for helping me avoid some common pitfalls.
